Gym Equipments

I have an extensive dance background, with a particular focus on ballet and en pointe. I danced with several pre-professional companies before landing with the Dayton Ballet. During that time there was an extreme amount of pressure to be thin not only for costumes, but also for partner work. In my mind, not eating was normalized. I watched several of my friends struggle with anorexia and bulimia and my way of 'controlling the controllable without puking' was to not fuel my body. Fast forward to my mid-twenties and I realized that I did not have the energy to get through the day, let alone a performance. It was at that time that I started to learn more about food as fuel, how nutrition could enhance performance and everyday life. I started advocating for dancers, particularly ballerinas to eat to be able to sustain the long days of training.

At the age of 41 I started to realize that my mind, body, and spirit started to change. I found myself being tired all of the time, unable to lose weight in my middle section, snapping at all of the things, low libido and just in a funk. My nutrition was on point, I was lifting enough to break a sweat and was teaching about 3 HIIT classes a week.  It took me about a year and a half of talking to doctors and feel like I was not getting any answers.

I ended connecting with a Natural Path with a focus on women in their 40s and through a series of blood work and testing I found out that many year of birth control and the body naturally changing, my body was wrecked. I was not producing any testosterone and my adrenal glands were not functioning, hence entering peri menopause. At that time I realized I needed a team to get through the journey. That's when I was lead to Coach Christina with Mindset of the Matter as part of my journey to getting back to living my best life.

Now I am putting all my knowledge and years in the fitness industry into helping clients reach their best self!
